Aviate is one of the most daring in the field of launchers on Android, with a different interface and promise to suit your current needs.
One of the main advantages of Android is the amount of possibilities in terms of customization. Not only brands can decide how you see your content on your phone or the way in which you interact with him. Since launchers and applications are there to modify the design completely in conceiving Android in a different way. In this line comes Aviate, one launcher that comes to change everything, from the GUI to how we consume information and interact with our Android.
Aviate is a gamble but, not surprisingly, is already garnering positive reviews. Still its infancy, but what is proposed is rewrite Aviate way to interact with your smartphone and make it more intelligent. The idea is simple: a phone that fits each of the situations in which we find ourselves, changing as the day progresses and our geographic location.
Aviate interface is radically different from everything we’ve seen on Android so far. Yet, far from being cumbersome, is very intuitive and in minutes you get used to navigating what seems a new operating system: main screen with your favorite widgets and applications, if you slide to the left you access the different modes and sliding right you get to the most used applications organized by category. If you go back
to slide to the right, you get all your applications. There, that’s all.
Among the various modes which offers Aviate, default are 5, but are customizable and you can add as many as you want:
- Time: where the main widget provides the time, date and time.
- Work: The main widget displays the events scheduled for the day and major productivity applications installed
- Settings: In the main widget displays different controls functions such as battery and related applications
- Going Somewhere: From which we can access addresses and major geolocation applications installed
- Nearby Places: from which you access directly to an interface that shows the most interesting nearby
Each of the categories offered by Aviate are customizable and you can also add some. That is, if for example at home usually use a specific application, you can create a new profile and include, to get home to have an interface that suits your needs. modes are called Spaces , because after all what they do is that, create a new customizable space.
Furthermore, Aviate automatically adapts to your needs: in the morning the main screen shows you the events scheduled for that day and time, driving navigation offers your favorite places and Going Somewhere mode automatically throws you information about places where go, restaurant reviews or photos.

The only problem, however, is that it is so peronalizable that perhaps the first time is overwhelming : all Spaces can be tailored to your needs, the application lists (Collections) can be modified and the initial widgets and main applications also be customized.
But if you can get used to Aviate, will likely become your default launcher: the speed to perform actions that provides, together with a nice interface make Aviate not go unnoticed, much less.
For now, Aviate is available by invitation only and it is a final beta launcher. In fact, I’m sure it can still improve significantly, adding for example a dark interface, something that cries launcher. Hopefully that will be soon available in the final version, surely convince a large number of users.
